Here’s a list of our past clients and the ways TELL PR has helped them succeed.
L’Oreal Thompson Payton
"As an award-winning journalist and the author of Stop Waiting for Perfect, I was struggling to clearly define the throughline of all my offerings as a writer, motivational speaker, writing coach and yoga instructor. Before working with Danielle Bayard Jackson of TELL Public Relations, I found it challenging to articulate my focus on wellness for ambitious women, particularly Black women.
Our time together was highly productive and incredibly valuable. Danielle helped me clarify my messaging and provided practical next steps that were easy to implement without feeling overwhelmed. From creating a media kit to hiring an assistant for identifying potential speaking engagements and even a referral to a videographer for my speaker reel, Danielle’s guidance was spot on.”
“[TELL publicists] gave me a newfound clarity in my messaging and a surge of confidence moving forward. I’m ready to secure paid speaking engagements and pursue more high-visibility media opportunities.”
Cultured Books
Lorielle Halloway is the founder of Cultured Books, an organization dedicated to increasing literacy and a love for learning for children of color.
Cultured Books was launching a big reading campaign and wanted to get the word out. Their team hired TELL to help them create event programming, develop a marketing plan, and pitch local media.
The organization landed a local news hit 48 hours after a strategy session and executed a successful event.
Maria Lane
Maria Lane is an incredibly talented vocalist who studied at The Juilliard School and has sung on notable stages like Carnegie Hall.
When releasing her debut album “Crescendo,” Maria wanted to secure media attention and help audiences understand the beauty and importance of her music– pop and theater standards reimagined as lullabies. She was in her third trimester and needed support with her launch as she awaited the arrival of her first child.
The TELL team wrote press releases and advised Maria on how to distribute them. The team also helped the singer create three original story angles that were timely and compelling to attract media attention–and it worked.
Shortly after working with TELL publicists, Maria had a press release and secured television appearances and successfully launched a beautiful album into the world.
TO BE US Productions
TO BE US Productions is a Black-owned, Houston-based production company dedicated to telling Black stories. Their award-winning debut documentary, TO BE US: To Work, explores the racism, microaggressions, misogynoir, and fear of retaliation that Black people experience in the workplace.
This team came to TELL to get the word out about their film. Like so many visionaries, their work was impressive– but not enough people had heard of it.
TELL publicists helped the production company host its first event, secure podcast interviews with Emmy-award winning hosts, and receive speaking engagements.
We strongly encourage you to watch their powerful film here.
Gina B.
YouTube fitness sensation, Gina B. is known for her fun-loving personality and successful Upbeat programs. She helps people to live fuller, healthier lives with low-fuss nutrition and high-energy workouts.
Gina already has a highly engaged community, but she was looking for support to tell her story in a compelling way, and to highlight her expertise as not only a fitness instructor and health coach, but also as a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman.
Our team helped Gina craft a story and design a media kit that more clearly established her as a multi-hyphenate. We worked with her to develop a strategy and content kit for posts that would help her audience better understand her well-roundedness, which helped position her to earn recognition for multiple gifts.
RaQuel Hopkins
RaQuel Hopkins is an HR expert, executive coach, and member of the Forbes Council. She is extremely knowledgeable about motivation for high-functioning, high-achieving individuals.
When RaQuel finalized her offerings, she enlisted TELL’s support to help her begin getting more attention for her brand.
Our TELL Publicists were able to book a speaking engagement, create compelling copy for RaQuel’s website, book multiple podcast appearances, and give her thorough media training. This worked to support the incredible business she had built, and assisted in connecting her with people who needed her message most.
Tori Bell
Victoria Bell is the founder of Inclusion Unpacked, a business that helps companies create more inclusive workplaces from the start. Before her time as an entrepreneur, she was responsible for company culture at Meta, and founded Black Women at Facebook for its employees.
When Tori went out on her own, big outlets began to reach out to her to hear her story, and she was looking for support.
Our team helped Tori prepare key talking points for her interviews with major podcasts. The tips and strategy we shared helped her feel more “confident and knowledgeable” about these kinds of media appearances.
Yamel Belen
Yamel Belen is an RN and founder of One Love Doula Services. As a member of the Parents Magazine advisory board, her expertise is respected by national audiences.
When the pandemic hit, pregnant women were told they couldn’t have their birthing team in the room during labor. These women were facing distressing updates and were concerned about their care during this time. Yamel has a wealth of knowledge on these kinds of issues, and wanted to be positioned as the go-to expert for these discussions.
Within two weeks of hiring TELL, Yamel was featured in the Tampa Bay Times– a 14-time Pulitzer award-winning publication. This led to a series of other media opportunities that earned Yamel an invitation to serve on the advisory board of Parents Magazine, one of the top parenting magazines in the world.
Hillsborough County
Hillsborough County is one of the nation’s largest counties. Tampa (home of TELL’s central office) is its largest city, one of the fastest-growing cities in America.
Hillsborough County’s city planning team needed help in ensuring that its 2021 Nondiscrimination plan was inclusive and solicited support from both county officials and their residents.
TELL publicists reviewed the language, led highly curated focus groups, and designed strategies for marketing the plan to a diverse group of key stakeholders.
